Slick City Brings a New Kind of Family Fun to the Mitten

Giant slides have landed in Michigan!

Slick City Action Park is now open in Troy (Grand Opening – March 16, 2026), and it brings an activity our state has genuinely never seen before.

This family fun center is built entirely around big drops, speed, and the kind of thrills you’d expect from a water park, except nobody’s getting wet.

If you’ve been to Sky Zone or a bounce house place and you think this is more of the same, it’s not.

Slick City runs on dry slide technology -special surfaces that create water park-level speed and elevation but without the water. Other states like Indiana, Colorado, Texas, Missouri, etc have had these for a few years now and now it’s Michigan’s turn.

The Slides (Because That's Why You're Going)

Most indoor play spots in Michigan have a sweet spot of maybe ages 5 to 10, but Slick City has it set up so that adults and big kids get to go on the slides, too.

The little ones have their own space. The big kids and adults have their own slides.

Let’s get into it. Here’s what’s waiting for you:

  • Fast Lane — Four lanes side by side. Pick your opponent, race to the bottom. This one gets competitive fast.
  • Mega Launch — The signature Slick City slide. Steep drop, serious speed, half-pipe walls at the bottom that swing you back and forth like a wave. It’s the one everyone talks about.
  • Big Wave — Half-pipe style. You build momentum and ride the walls. Skateboarders will feel right at home.
  • Royal Flush — A steep drop feeds into a giant bowl that spins you around before spitting you out. Equal parts terrifying and delightful.
  • Python — Tight, twisting turns through a winding tube. Fast and relentless.
  • Zig Zag — Banked curves and bumps the whole way down.
  • Avalanche — High speed, constantly moving. One of those slides where you arrive at the bottom before your brain does.

Beyond the slides, there’s a Sport Air Court with a springy, cushioned floor built for basketball and dodgeball.

There’s also a Swing and Trapeze setup with an airbag landing, a Junior Jungle climbing area for the younger crowd, and an on-site cafe.
