Weiss Centennial Farm
is a sixth-generation working dairy farm just outside Frankenmuth that has been producing fresh milk continuously since 1853.
Michigan’s 2013 Centennial Farm of the Year, it’s primarily a scheduled tour stop – not a retail dairy – but the educational experience and seasonal corn maze make it a solid add-on for families in the area.
Farm Tours
- Free for individual/family visitors, offered year-round (just call at least 3 hours ahead to schedule.)
- A highlight is meeting “Johann,” their Lely robotic milking system.
- You also pet calves, see the tractors and farm equipment, and walk the family fruit orchard.
- The farm dates back to 1853 and the Weiss family tells that history on the tour
Group/school tours are 2 hours, 20-person minimum, $7/student for school groups (includes extra activities beyond the standard tour).
This is Where You'll Find the Frankenmuth Corn Maze
In fall, their carefully crafted maze comes to life.
Their corn maze is 5 acres, with 2.5 miles of trails, 3 viewing bridges, and 20 interactive game stations.
It includes lawn maze puzzles in the courtyard, hayrides on Saturdays, and flashlight maze evenings.
Typically open weekends late September through early November.
Known for Their Pretzels
Pretzels are not a regular offering at Weiss Farm, but rather, a special occasion kind of thing.
The Weiss Farm has a full-size kitchen and the family often makes pretzels for community school groups or events like VBS or camps.
If you want to learn about pretzel-making, pretzel rolling events are held at times through Saginaw State’s continuing ed program or the city of Frankenmuth.
The class listing reads
