Point Betsie Lighthouse

has been guiding ships along the Manitou Passage since 1858 and is still operational today.

The lighthouse is north of Frankfort and south of Sleeping Bear Dunes.

 

 

About the Point Betsie Lighthouse

Point Betsie Lighthouse offers visitors the opportunity to explore the lighthouse grounds, stroll along the sandy shores of Lake Michigan and enjoy the nearby public beach.

The original lighthouse, keeper’s residence, fog signal building, and boathouse museum are all open to the public. Self guided tours are available on selects days, typically offered May through October, for a small fee. During the tour, visitors can climb the 34 step tower and be rewarded with beautiful views of Lake Michigan.
