Our take: Short’s Beer Garden in Bellaire has the best pizza I’ve ever had—so flavorful and delicious. Tons of people ordered takeout from the pub and brought it over to the Beer Garden to sit outside and eat. Most people got pizza.

The Beer Garden has live music Thursday through Sunday, a beer truck, and a taco truck. There are tons of picnic tables to sit at and tables for standing. The beer garden is right across the street from the pub.

The attention to detail is incredible. Every unit makes you feel like royalty, with high-quality everything—plush towels, comfy bedding, bath robes, and even 2-ply toilet paper.

Perfect for families of five, with a king bed, two twins, and a super comfy pullout couch, each unit has family board games and TVs in every room. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was such a convenience, and they even provided detergent.

The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, a toaster, blender, and kid-friendly dishes. Our patio had a new grill, a fire pit, and wood ready to go. Even the on-site he gym was well-equipped.

They really thought of everything; Q-tips, tweezers, magnifying mirrors, and even beach towels.

Our trip report:

The water trail at River Park in Ellsworth, MI, was a breeze to follow, with clearly marked signs and an easy-to-use app that works without Wi-Fi. The trail is scenic, filled with nature, and even features a fun tunnel.

The self-serve kayak kiosks were fantastic; you download an app, get a locker number, and find adjustable life jackets inside. The kayaks, equipped with paddles, adjustable back supports, and storage cubbies, were comfortable and easy to navigate.

Returning the kayaks was just as simple—store the kayaks back in the locker, lock up the life jackets, and retrieve any of your belongings, making it all a super easy and enjoyable experience.
