Oakland County, MI – Dark, wintry nights have met their match in one of Michigan’s most splendid walk-through Christmas light displays: Glenlore Trails’ Aurora.

The dazzling wooded walk, beginning November 17 and running through December 30, 2023, takes visitors on an enchanting journey that will make you forget you’re in Southeast Michigan.

New every year, here’s a look at what you can expect if you go:

Aurora’s lights beckon everyone. Families looking for a fun activity, couples in search of a festive getaway, or friends bent on making memories will all be happy they came. The path is designed to accommodate strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs, so nobody misses out on the holiday magic.

The one-mile outdoor trail winds through a glowing forest trimmed with over half a million lights – and filled with the sounds of holiday cheer.

Interactive, hands-on elements invite you to play and explore.

Kids can even make a stop at Santa’s personal mailbox (it’s at ticket check-in and promises special delivery to the North Pole.)

Tasty Concessions

This year, Glenlore Trails has added a food truck to the experience. Fill up on tacos, burritos, waffle fries, or Mexican Coke.

Two on-site concession booths offer light snacks, beverages, and Glenlore merchandise.

Special Events: Santa Visit & Adult Night

Thursday 12/7/23: SANTA VISITS. Enjoy a personal 2-3 minute visit with Santa Claus himself before your trail walk. Share holiday wishes, take photos, and then explore the enchanting trails of Aurora. Hot cocoa and reindeer food included. Tickets are limited, reserve your spot here.

Friday 12/15/23: ADULT NIGHT 21+: Enjoy live music, delicious bites from the on-site taco truck, holiday-crafted drinks from the concession stands, and an enchanting walk through the winter wonderland. Reserve your spot here.

Glenlore Trails is located at 3860 Newton Road in Commerce Township.

AURORA runs from November 17 through December 30, 2023.

It’s open Thursday – Sunday evenings. (Start times vary by day but typically begin around 5 PM with the final entry around 10 PM.)

General admission is reasonably priced, with adults (13+) at $25, youth (4-12) for $15, and seniors (65+) at a discounted $20. Children under 3 are free.
