50+ Yummy Apple Cider Mills & Donuts in Michigan
Worth the Drive! Apple Cider Mills in Michigan
Fall in Michigan pretty much tastes like cider and donuts, right? Michigan grows more than 25 million bushels of apples each year, which is why apple time is basically its own season. They’ve grown into full-blown destinations with hayrides, corn mazes, and fall activities all across Michigan.
You can’t drive 20 miles in October without passing a cider mill parking lot packed with minivans. You know the drill: stand in line, grab a jug, grab a dozen, sit on a picnic bench. Nom nom nom.
But here’s the thing. No two jugs taste the same. One mill swears by tart apples, another blends in honeycrisp, and suddenly you’ve got a cider that’s more like a crisp white wine than the sweet stuff you grew up with.
Some places even pour hard cider now, so your Saturday donut might come with a pint glass instead of a paper cup.
And the donuts? Don’t get me started.

Same deal. Some go classic cinnamon sugar, others push out chocolate frosted, pumpkin spice, or apple fritters the size of your head.
What it boils down to is that everyone’s got a “best cider mill” they’ll argue about, right up there with their favorite lake or pizza joint. And you really can’t go wrong.
Your Michigan Cider Mill RunDown
Start in Grand Rapids at Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery where they press a blend of 40+ apple varieties and roll out that seasonal pumpkin spice donut.
Slide down to the Kalamazoo area for Gull Meadow Farms, where the cider is crisp and the fall weekends are buzzing with activities.
Head to Lansing area for Uncle John’s to watch the press run on weekends and grab a flight in the hard-cider taproom.
Metro Detroit is a heavyweight, so point the car at Blake’s in Armada for warm seasonal donuts and hard-cider flights.
Up North, Knaebe’s in Rogers City serves a BAM donut crowned with maple glaze and bacon crumbs.
