Known as one of the largest and most intense haunted attraction in Michigan, Darksyde Acres features five haunted attractions, each with its own theme: The Catacombs (zombies), The Abyss (haunted pirate ship), Rusthole (industrial terror), 3D KlowneTowne (black light clown maze) and The Labyrinth (chainsaw maze). Each experience takes about 45 minutes to walk through.

Chill seekers love the spooky atmosphere: the isolated, rural location and amazing performers (no animatronics!) make it feel like you’re in a classic horror film.

Note that this is an extreme haunt, recommended for ages 16 and up.

Eloise Asylum takes “haunted attraction” to the next level: it’s located in an historic (and allegedly actually haunted) former psychiatric hospital. The experience spans two huge floors (named The Asylum and Sub Level 1) and give an immersive, high tech, totally creepy journey.

The Asylum has live actors (who will grab you unless you opt out), shadows and close-up interactions. Sub Level 1 is less intense and depends on animatronics.

Expect high volume and sensory overload including strobe lights.

Eloise Asylum Haunt is open Friday – Sunday, September 27 – November 1, 2025.

For a haunted forest experience, put Deranged Haunt on your Must Do list. It’s on five acres of wooded landed and takes place on trails through the woods.

This is a great haunt to visit every year because the incredible story it tells changes every year. This season’s  interactive tale is about the sinister mayor of Covensfield.

Watch for special events throughout the season including family-friendly Scare-Free nights, 18+ adult only haunts and themes including Clown Carnage and Classic Monsters.

Family Friendly Option

Kids’ Scare Free Haunt is Wednesday, October 22 from 6:30 – 8 PM.  All ages are welcome to collect candy at trick or treat stations along the monster-free trail. Tickets are $8 + $1.95 booking fee.

Deranged Haunt is open Friday – Sunday, September 26 – November 2, 2025.

For an interesting twist on the haunted house experience, get your scares at the Edson Incident, located on the USS Edson – a Vietnam era U.S. Navy destroyer ship.

Climb and descend through five decks of the ship while encountering scenes of a military experiment gone wrong. The haunt features scare actors, special effects and immersive sets.

Take your intense sensory experience to the next level and brave the pitch black Blackout night where visitors navigate the ship with only glowsticks.

Hush Haunted Attraction is way more than a haunted house. In addition to three different haunted houses, it also has stage shows, a horror boutique and three bars for the 21+ crowd.

Each of the three haunted houses has its own theme and storyline:

• Hotel Descent is a terrifying elevator drop into the service tunnels leading to a buried temple with forbidden glyphs and coffins
• Eternal Rest Cemetery is a haunted burial ground with crypts, an eerie chapel and sinister cultists looking for prime burial material (that’s you)

Abandoned Acres is a unique, immersive experience so prepare to be scared. Jump into three haunted experiences.

New Salem Haunted Corn Maze is located outside of Grand Rapids and is family-friendly during the day and frightful at night.

Witches Woods: “Witches of New Salem” haunted woods is a frightening experience with over 20 attractions and dozens of actors and props. Stroll down one of the two paths in the Witches Woods. It’s up to you on “witch” path to take, whether you take the “Twisted” or the “Wicked” you will scream around every corner.

Haunted Maze: You will be stalked + spooked by their team of corn stalkers as you twist your way through their dark and spooky corn maze. Enter the corn at your own risk. This nighttime adventure will take you on a wild and ride of dead ends, twists & turns, confusion, mayhem and to top it off you will be stalked by their devilish team of corn stalkers. $30 Admission Per Person.

Jackson’s Underworld Extreme Haunted House is a professionally built attraction and is rated as one of the largest and scariest of haunted houses in the United States.

The haunted house is  four stories, over 115,000 square feet.

It takes an average of 45 minutes to navigate and is just under one mile long.

Psycho Vision 3D is the ultimate three dimensional haunt experience. This newly renovated facility creates a realistic scare while wearing our Psycho 3D glasses.

Psycho Vision 3D is conveniently located in the same four story building as Jackson’s Underworld.

Niles Scream Park offers 44 acres of blood-curdling fear! Six major attractions are rebuilt each year to provide you with completely new and unique shows.

Attractions include Niles Haunted House – there are over 100 different paths through the attraction and it’s impossible to see it all with less than seven trips.

The Field of Screams: It starts with a visit to a New Orleans style cemetery. After that you will encounter mazes, clowns, monsters and zombies. If you are really lucky, you may make it to the final tunnel and hope the dark will keep the monsters off your tracks long enough for you to get out!

Haunted Hayride: A tractor drawn wagon and ride the Dark Terror-tory Haunted Hayride. The trail is approximately a mile long and filled with more than 30 sets that are woven together into a narrative that changes each year.

Bonus: There’s a Midway filled with games, roaming monsters, concessions, and other scary delights.

Terrorfied Forest is an outdoor haunted attraction in the middle of a forest. Journey through the wood for just under a one mile walk (or run) along a dimly lit path.

The Ghost Ship is a haunted “house” aboard the SS City of Milwaukee covering five decks.

It includes steep stairs, costumed actors jumping out at you, props, and more.

Scaredy Pants, Kids Night! Friday, October 31 from 3 PM – 6:15 PM. Open to all ages!

Come through Ghost Ship with the lights on and get some candy. Fun, without as much scare.

$5/person. However, at 7:30, the ghouls come back out for another night of Ghost Ship.
