Water Street Commons in Alpena

Water Street Commons is a cluster of tiny shops right on the Thunder Bay River in downtown Alpena, next to the drawbridge. It’s part marketplace and part hangout, with sourdough and smoothies on one side, cider and cat toys on the other.

Food trucks pull up, tables spill into the open air, and you get a great riverfront spot downtown where you can sip, snack, and people watch.

The mix of shops shifts through the seasons, so what’s here in July might look different come fall, keeping the place in constant rotation.
