Think fast, funny, and clean improv that pulls you right into the action. You shout ideas, they turn them into hilarious scenes on the spot. No script, no safety net – just pure comedy magic.

Where They Perform

You’ll catch River City Improv popping up at venues around Grand Rapids like  and other local spots.

They pop up all over Grand Rapids, like Wealthy Theatre, MidtownGR, you name it.

They do monthly shows plus private gigs. Sure, they’ve traveled to over 100 cities, but Grand Rapids is home sweet home.

Looking for a night out that won’t make you cringe when you bring your teenager (or your mom)? This is your jam. These performers know how to read a room and keep everyone laughing without diving into the gutter for cheap laughs.

Some alumni have even gone big-time with Emmy Awards and Second City, but this crew keeps it real and local.

The Backstory

It all started with two college buddies, Rick Treur and Jeanne Leep, who began in coffee shops before building what you see today.

Many performers come from Calvin College and Grand Rapids Christian High School, giving the whole thing a hometown vibe.
