How Playa Bowls Works

About Playa Bowls

Playa Bowls was started by two Jersey Shore surfers who were chasing summer vibes across surf spots in Panama, Costa Rica, and Hawaii.

And it just so happened that every beach town on their journey had their own version of these bowls.

Playa Bowls Founders

When they came back to the states, they figured out how to bottle that post-surf energy and bring it back to New Jersey as a healthier alternative to the usual beach food lineup.

Starting small, they made a deal with their pizza shop landlord to set up on the sidewalk, hooked an extension cord from an upstairs apartment to power the blender, and started serving açaí bowls (back when nobody even knew what they were.)

Fast-forward to today to see that what began with a pair of blenders, a patio table, and a fridge has grown into 300+ locations in many states across the US.
