P. H. Hoeft State Park in Rogers City
P.H. Hoeft State Park sits just 5 miles northwest of Rogers City on Lake Huron, making it an easy spot to reach for a day trip or weekend getaway. The park covers 340 acres with nearly a mile of sandy shoreline, over 120 campsites, cozy cabins, and a historic lodge. It was closed for the 2025 season, so be sure to check ahead before you visit.
What to expect
Visitors to P.H. Hoeft State Park can swim, hike the trails (or cross-country ski in winter). There are playgrounds, volleyball nets, and picnic shelters.
It’s one of Michigan’s oldest state parks and a great mix of nature, history, and recreation just minutes from Rogers City.
A Michigan Recreation Passport is required for entrance, but if you get one ahead of time it will save you lots of money and get you into all Michigan State Parks for free!
