Lucy Hill Luge Track in Negaunee

Lucy Hill Luge Track

230 E County Rd, Negaunee MI 49866

ALPINE LUGE: You’ve seen luge sleds rocketing down ice-glazed tubes during the Winter Olympics–that’s Artificial Track luge (the ice is refrigerated).  Alpine Luge (or Natural Track) luge is even more exciting – as the ice track winds down the natural contours of the hillside, edged by boards and snow banks, the riders speed up, slow down, and steer corners using their feet, hands, and bodies.  The luge sled is similar to an old-fashioned wooden sled with metal runners to get the most speed out of the iced track. Alpine luge is a unique sport, and exciting for athletes and spectators.

OPEN FOR PUBLIC SLIDING AND EVENTS: Come to the place where athletes train for international competition, and experience for yourself the thrill of skimming down an ice-covered track aboard a luge sled. The bottom section of the track is open for public sliding. The public is welcome to come out and receive instruction during the winter months (please see our Reservations page). Equipment and instruction are included, so all you have to do is dress for the cold. Come for the afternoon and bring your friends! You can reserve the hill for private parties, too. It’s a unique event for celebrations, corporate retreats, or youth groups.  More information? See our Contact Page.
