What is Koetsier’s?

Koetsier’s Greenhouse is a family-owned and operated seasonal greenhouse in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Known for its top-quality annuals, perennials, tropicals, vegetables, herbs, flowering shrubs, and stunning hanging baskets, Koetsier’s is the go-to spot for plant lovers.

They also create custom container gardens, so if you’ve got a planter that needs some life, they can make it happen.

Visiting Koetsier’s

Spring and early summer are hopping times, with the greenhouse bursting with color. Even when it’s busy, the vibe stays chill, and staff help you haul your plants to the car so you can keep that laid-back feeling going.

If you want to dig in right there, Bloomstudio is open during business hours. Bring your own containers (or grab one of theirs) and plant it up on-site with all the supplies and expert advice you need. Soil, plants, gloves—it’s all there.

For kids, there’s Grow Club.

It’s totally free, runs Saturday mornings from April to June, and lets kiddos get their hands dirty with gardening projects. They even earn stamps in their passport, and after three visits, they get their very own Grow Club T-shirt.

Events

Wine and Design Wednesdays are a huge hit. These happen every Wednesday evening in May from 6 to 8 pm, with more sessions popping up in the fall and winter. You bring your containers (or buy one there), and they provide the inspiration, guidance, and even some wine sampling to keep things fun. You just pay for the soil and plants you use.

They also host private planting parties (perfect for a girls’ night,) office outing, or just a reason to get your hands dirty.

You can call or email to set it up, and they’ll help you design something special.

Coffee Café

New for 2025, Koetsier’s partnered with Brody’s Café to add a little extra flavor to your visit.

The café offers free coffee and is staffed by individuals with intellectual disabilities, bringing a community-focused mission to life.

When to Go

They’re closed on Sundays and do not operate in the winter.
