Green Vale Farm Creamery is a century-old dairy farm and store in Coopersville, just west of Grand Rapids.
The green barns are a standout and definitely photo-worthy, and behind them is a large working farm with hundreds of cattle, an on-site cheese plant, and a store stocked with fresh cheese, meats, and baked goods.
About the Cheese
All of Green Vale’s cheese is handmade in their state-inspected plant right on the farm.
The cows are milked in the morning, and that same milk is turned into cheese the same day, with curds and blocks packaged the next day and put straight on the shelf.
They offer a long list of flavored curds like garlic dill, smoky bacon, ranch, steakhouse, honey BBQ, jalapeño nacho, and buffalo, along with cheese blocks like pepper jack, tomato basil, green olive, and smoky bacon, plus fresh mozzarella. Everything is hormone- and antibiotic-free and comes from their own herd.
