Just north of downtown Alpena, Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan is an art, history, and science museum that cheap to visit, educational, and stocked with interactive, hands-on exhibits.

Reasons to Visit

Visiting the Besser Museum is a great place to stretch your legs after a long car ride. Plan to spend an hour or two so you have time to experience all this place has to offer:

  • See collections of artifacts and rotating fine art exhibits from world-famous and local Michigan artists
  • Outside in the Fossil Park you can dig for real Devonian period fossils (and keep what you find!)
