Ah-Nab-Awen Park

220 Front Ave NW, MI 49504

Ah-Nab-Awen Park, adjacent to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum, is a vibrant and culturally meaningful spot perfect for relaxation, events, and exploring Grand Rapids along the riverfront.

The park’s name, which means “Resting Place” in the language of local Indigenous peoples, honors its origins as the site of a former Native American village and recognizes three major West Michigan tribes.

Ah-Nab-Awen Park covers about 6.5 acres and features open grassy spaces, city skyline views, and local favorite art installation Lorrie’s Button.

Its paved paths are stroller- and wheelchair-friendly, and restrooms are available on-site.
