Just 7 miles North of Rogers City on US-23 you’ll come to another amazing lighthouse on your Lake Huron road trip. Visit 40 Mile Point Lighthouse where you can climb the tower, hunt for fossils and pudding stones on the rocky beach, and even spot parts of a 1905 shipwreck right from shore.

What to expect

Admission is free and its open year-round from 8 AM – sunset. The museum, gift shop, and pilots house have seasonal hours.

While you’re there, you can also:

  • Tour the lighthouse & keeper’s quarters
  • See pieces of a shipwreck right on the beach
  • Fossil & pudding stone hunting on the rocky shoreline
  • Walk the trails and enjoy the park’s peaceful 22 acres
