Grandpa Shooks wouldn’t recognize it now, but he’d be proud! What started as a cherry farm in 1914 is now a buzzing winery with sweeping Lake Michigan views. Stop 2 – Petoskey Wine Trail

Royal Farms Fresh Market & The Cellars at Royal Farms

10445 US-31, Ellsworth, MI 49729 (Antrim County)

Roadside market and winery between Elk Rapids and Charlevoix. The market is stocked with fresh produce, pies, and cherry products, while the hidden tasting room serves wine and cider flights with hilltop views. U-Pick fruit in summer, corn maze and hayrides in the fall, plus a greenhouse loaded with flowers and mums as the seasons change. Dogs welcome on the patio.

Lost Cellars

Tucked away in Charlevoix, Lost Cellars is where small-batch wines and craft spirits come with a side of laid-back charm. Sip your way through their lineup on the dog-friendly patio, catch some live music during warmer months, and dig into charcuterie boards and cocktail samplers. For the full experience, crash at their cozy pondside rental for a true Up North escape. Perfect for a weekend hideout.

Blu Dot Farm & Vineyard*

Sip away in a vintage Airstream trailer at this charming 50-acre Charlevoix hideaway! This owners of this little vineyard between Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan baby each of their 5,000 vines with regular “vineyard walks” to create their small-batch wines. Dog-friendly.

Easygoing and all about the wine, Spare Key Winery is a Petoskey Wine Region favorite. A tucked-away family gem that’s 100% estate grown and bottled – rare in Northern Michigan! Started with just 400 vines in 2011, their name says it all – they offer visitors “a Spare Key to unlock experiences.”

Rudbeckia Winery and Burnt Marshmallow Brewstillery

Firepits, igloos, and killer views and the only farm in Northern Michigan housing a winery, brewery, distillery and cidery on 195 gorgeous acres. Bubbles are the star at this unique spot housed in a beautifully restored historic barn since 2017. The only all-sparkling winery in the region, they’ve made fizz their specialty with 20 taps of sparkling drinks. Stop in to taste amazing ciders and bubbly wines, play board games, say hi to the farm goats Taco and T-Rex, and enjoy their “Carbonation Country.”
