Kid-Friendly
Bright color, easy stops, art that will catch their attention. Solid options when you’ve got kids in tow.
2025 Kid ArtPrize Route – Great for Field Trips!

If you’re bringing kids or a whole field trip to ArtPrize and don’t have a ton of time, this route hits the highlights.
Start at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum where there are several kid-friendly pieces inside and out.
From there, cross the Gillett Bridge to DeVos Place.
Head upstairs for “My Poem Your Topic,” a fun interactive poetry stop. Out front, you’ll also spot the Kindness Machine, which requires a small fee.
Inside the Amway, make sure to look for the Eiffel Tower piece.
Continue through the Breezeway toward the Amway, where there are plenty of exhibits to check out along the way.

Next, stop by Biggby to see the cheerful Michigan-themed art and big, sparkly Joyful Art installation, then pass through Uccello’s Atrium if you have time.
Over at Hyatt Place you’ll find the giant cardboard castle that kids can actually go inside of.

Keep going to Kendall College, then head down Division to Courage & Soar.
Work your way back along Monroe for stops at the GR African Arts Museum, PO ArtBox, and the Grand Rapids Art Museum.


Finish at the JW Marriott and take a stroll across the Blue Bridge to the Grand Dome.
If you still have time, you can also swing up to Arborialis (fee), Sixth Street Park, Biophilia, or head over to the Cornerstone Church campus for more kid-friendly exhibits.
